“Georgia, and the political process here, have completely changed since I arrived.” Mikheil Sakaashvili, former president of Georgia, said that local elections, which had never been important, now are. He said the length of his prison sentence “depends on society.”
Saakashvili spoke also about the recent appointment of Giorgi Gakharia as chairman of Rustavi‘s City Council.
“We took Rustavi over three days ago. In the near future we will take Batumi and Zugdidi over, which means political processes have begun in the country. We are in a situation that makes fighting logical. “How long I’ll be in prison depends on your actions,” he said.
The trial of Mikheil Sakaashvili, the third president of Georgia, relating to the illegal crossing the state border of Georgia is currently underway at the Tbilisi City Court.
