Russian strikes injure civilians in Zaporizhzhia after hitting infrastructure and homes

Zaporizhzhia Oblast suffered 425 attacks over a 24-hour period. The city of Zaporizhzhia was hit by three precision strikes, while the surrounding towns were bombarded with artillery, rockets and air raids. One of the injured was an 11-year-old girl who received hospital treatment before returning to her home.
In the early morning hours of October 12, forces attacked Zaporizhzhia in southeastern . They used guided aerial bombs, according to reports. The attack resulted in civilian injuries, including one child.
As part of a broader strategy, Russia has been conducting air strikes daily on civilian areas in Ukraine. This is part of a broader strategy that aims to terrorize civilians and damage critical infrastructure such as power plants and hospitals. These attacks include the use of long range like the Iranian made Shahed “kamikaze”, as well as missiles.
According to the National , between 2:20 and 2.31 in the morning, the Russian forces conducted three airstrikes on Zaporizhzhia using KABs.
Ivan , the head of the Regional Military Administration, stated that three people had been injured – two in their 50s and a girl in her 11s. The adults declined hospitalization while the child was treated and returned home.

The National Police reported three strikes that targeted different areas in the city: a residential area, an infrastructure facility and a riding club.
The attack on Zaporizhzhia is part of a larger offensive within the oblast. Over the course 24 hours, Russian forces carried out 425 strikes against 11 settlements within Zaporizhzhia. Air attacks were reported to have hit several towns including Zaporizhzhia and Tavriiske.
