The newly-unveiled “Viking”, maritime center of Ukraine’s military intelligence, has been equipped Stridsbat90 boats. This will enhance operational capabilities for seaborne missions and fire support.
According to the agency’s Press Service, the “Viking”, maritime center of Ukraine Military Intelligence (HUR), has received three high speed Stridsbat 90 armored vessels made by Swedish manufacturer.

The CB90 boats are designed to perform assault operations, surveillance and patrol, as well as fire support on water.
Militarnyi reported that the combat boats were equipped with two 600kW diesel engines and waterjet propellers, which enabled sharp maneuvers and speeds up to 45km/h in shallow coastal waters.
The Ukrainian company “Metinvest”, purchased the Swedish boats in June 2024 and transferred them to military intelligence. The Dutch government plans on delivering several dozen such boats in Ukraine.
The CB90s come with weapon stations that can be fitted with automatic grenade launchers and machine guns. They can be armed with antiship missiles or carry naval mines.
One of the boats that the HUR agency displayed was armed with a heavy M2 Browning machinegun and a 7.62 mm FN MAG rear-mounted machine gun.
The Combat Boat 90’s primary function is to transport four and a quarter tons of cargo, or up to 21 soldiers in full combat equipment.
“The boats are capable of carrying out a variety of tasks, including logistical missions, such as transporting people, ammunition, and cargo. They can also patrol. Serhii said that a boat with a qualified crew can accomplish any mission.
The boat’s armor will protect the crew from shrapnel and bullets, he added. The boat’s range of 300 nautical miles (550km) is another significant advantage. The vessels handed to Ukrainian intelligence are already on missions at sea.
