Getty ImagesAn Israeli strike on a school in central Gaza that was used to house displaced Palestinians killed at least 15 people, according to officials. Gaza’s Hamas Civil Defence Agency reported that the site in Nuseirat Camp was struck by an artillery volley on Sunday. The attack killed entire families and injured dozens of others. Israel Defence Forces (IDF), a military force in Israel, said that it was investigating the reports. Five children were killed earlier by a drone attack while playing in a street corner of northern Gaza. Civil defence spokesman stated that the attack on al-Mufti School, where hundreds of displaced persons from around Gaza were sheltered, had injured more than 50 people and killed more than a dozen. Gazan authorities reported that hundreds of people have been killed since then. Residents of Beit Lahiya, Jabalia, and Beit Hanoun have reported being cut off by Gaza City. Israeli tanks were also seen on the outskirts. The World Health Organisation and the Red Cross have restocked two hospitals in the area after nine days. Five children in northern Gaza, playing on a corner, were reportedly killed by an Israeli air strike. She said that the family moved to al-Shati because they were forced to leave Jabalia for a “safer” area due to the war. The IDF has yet to respond to questions about the incident. Gaza’s 2.4m people, or 1.9m, have been displaced. Many have had to move several times to escape. The fighting began when Hamas launched a devastating attack on northern Israel in October of last year, killing more than 1,200 people and taking over 200 hostages in Gaza.
