Salome Zurabishvili, Georgian President, confirmed her intention to present the composition of a technical government before the parliamentary election and called on the main opposition alliances during her briefing on October 12 to confirm their commitment. She said that she has met with the four major pro-European political forces (Unity-to Save Georgia, Coalition for Changes Strong Georgia, and for Georgia) to go over all the points in the charter and assure them that they are being met. She said that on her visits to European capitals, she met with European leaders who promised that if they saw the political well and the Charter was fulfilled, Georgia would be immediately returned to EU path and the point where EU accession talks are held. She said that there were different interpretations for one point in the Charter, which she felt needed clarification so that no questions were left unclear or subject to interpretation. The last Charter point states that the President will present the composition for the government responsible for implementing it (the action plan). She said she would present the technical government because, at this transitional phase, the society expects a technical or administrative administration to be formed whose sole responsibility will be to fulfill on the executive side, what the Georgian Charter prescribes. She said that she expected the parties confirm such a dedication.
