Kakha Kaladze is the General Secretary of “Georgian Dream” and Mayor of Tbilisi. She responded to Anna Luhrmann‘s statement, Germany’s Deputy Foreign Minister for European and Climate Issues. Kaladze dismissed Luhrmann’s criticism of Georgia‘s government by saying, “I don’t know who this woman is.” She is just an ordinary Kubilius dressed up.”
Kaladze referred to Andrius Kublius, a Lithuanian political figure and critic of Georgian government. He added that such statements are “a straw price” with no real significance.
Kaladze stressed that the Georgians are represented by the government of the day, saying that this may be a difficult fact for some critics from abroad. He reiterated that statements such as Luhrmann’s have “no price.”
This was after Luhrmann made a statement in support of Georgia’s EU accession but criticizing the government for creating obstacles to that path.
