The liberation of Kinburn Spit will be crucial for Ukraine’s as it will enhance control over the Black Sea’s northwestern coast and increase operational capabilities.
According UkrInform, it is too early to talk about the liberation of Kinburn Spit. However, Ukrainian Forces spokesperson Serhii bratchuk stressed that such an operation was matter of capability and time.
Bratchuk, in a television broadcast he made, highlighted the strategic importance of the Kinburn Spit for the resumption of the Mykolaiv Port and important maritime trade corridors.
“The Kinburn Spit, and the entire , must be liberated.” It will allow the Mykolaiv Port to function and connect to the ports of Odesa. This will facilitate our state’s export/import routes,” said Bratchuk.
He said that Russian forces were clinging to the location with tenacity and using it to exert a lot of pressure the Black Sea’s northwestern coast.
He claimed that the enemy was strengthening its personnel and equipment at the Kinburn Spit after dispatching several boats from the flotilla temporarily .
The decision to liberate Kinburn Spit is dependent on the capabilities and operational tasks performed by the Defense Forces.
“Decisions will be made by higher command.” We cannot say with certainty if an offensive on Kinburn Spit is going to happen today or tomorrow. He clarified further that the Defense Forces were preparing to liberate Kinburn Spit, a critical goal in southern Ukraine.
“The actions taken by the in relation to the Kinburn Spit is gradual, with ongoing operations. Secret missions are being conducted to destroy enemy equipment and personnel to weaken the defenses of this area. The primary objective is clear. This location is crucial for our advancement and liberation of our territory,” Bratchuk said.
Earlier, intelligence fighters carried out a raid at the Kinburn Spit where they raised the Ukrainian flag.
The Kinburn Sand Spit is located in Mykolaiv Oblast, near Ochakiv. It extends from Kinburn Peninsula, and separates the Black Sea estuary from the Dnipro-Bug Estuary.
