The situation in Toretsk is rapidly deteriorating. According to officials, no buildings remain intact while Russian forces continue to assault the city.
DeepState, a Ukrainian analytical group, reported on 15th October that Russian forces had advanced in Toretsk and Donetsk Oblast.
DeepState reported that Russian occupiers also advanced near Nevske Vodyane Zolota Nyva and Pryiutne.
The city is strategically important, as it has been a Ukrainian strength since Russia’s initial invasion of Donbas, in 2014. Toretsk’s control would give Russian forces a foothold from which to advance further into Ukrainian territory in the Donetsk Oblast. It is therefore a key goal in their military campaign.
