The “Georgian Dream Party” calls the information spread about the collapse of a stage structure for the ruling party‘s election event in Zugdidi by the “National Movement“, an “astonishing lie”.
The ruling party’s press service releases a statement on this issue, in which they call for the monitoring missions to “immediately include the disinformation spread Giorgi Mumladze” in their reports.
“We want to respond to Giorgi Mumladze’s shocking lie that a person died when the stage structure collapsed in Zugdidi. This disgraceful, inhumane lie was spread to try and contact the honorary chairperson of the party, Bidzina, Ivanishvili. The radical opposition was so shocked by the impressive meeting that “Georgian Dream”, held in Zugdidi, that they tried to mislead public with a dirty method. We consider the lie spread by the National Movement leader to be a dirty provocation and an attempt to harm the pre-election campaign. We call on the monitoring missions, therefore, to reflect the disinformation spread Mumladze’s reports immediately,” states the statement of “Georgian Dream”.
Giorgi Mumladze is the representative of “National Movement” and he posted the following on social media: “Yesterday in Zugdidi during the collapse of Bidzina aquarium, a young boy fell from a high height and died. Bidzina Rus is a source of death and misfortune. We must eliminate this evil by October 26! “, wrote Mumladze.
