Ukrainian Commander-in Chief Syrskyi revealed that the UK is considering plans to enable Ukraine to strike Russian military installations far beyond front lines.
Oleksandr Sryskyi, commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said that Britain was considering its own proposals in regards to Ukraine’s capability to strike military targets deep inside Russia.
Syrskyi stated on Telegram that the proposals were being developed as part a victory plan after the phone conversation with Admiral Sir Tony Radakin of the UK Chiefs of Defence Staff.
Since months, Ukraine has urged allies to lift restrictions on using long-range weapons in Russia against targets. The restriction prevents Ukraine from striking Russian airfields and logistics, allowing Russia greater pressure on the frontline.
In late September, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented to US officials his victory plan. One of the main focuses is to get approval for long-range weapons to be used against targets in Russia.
During the call, Syrskyi briefed his British colleague on the current battlefield conditions.
