The 14-kilometer Batumi Bypass Highway is officially opened

The 14-kilometer two-way with 20 bridges and 5 tunnels has been officially opened.
The highway’ primary purpose is to reduce traffic the city, and improve the living and recreational conditions of Batumi. It also provides access to nearby villages.
The Roads Department of has announced that the highway is and in operation, but many people claim it is still closed and blocked to vehicles.
Official sources deny these complaints and that the highway has already been opened and is in use.
The of the Batumi Bypass Highway has been made possible by loans from the Development Bank and the Asian Infrastructure Bank, with additional funding coming from the state budget. The project cost GEL 330 millions. Construction has been going for several years.
