White House: Biden chooses phone call over meeting with Zelenskyy, White House declines to meet him in Europe

These shifts are occurring at a crucial time for Ukraine. Western support is waning while the frontline crisis deteriorates. Zelenskyy’s Victory Plan and upcoming meetings will be crucial for reinvigorating the international backing and securing funds against Russian aggression. Biden’s planned 12th visit to Germany, where Zelenskyy would present Ukraine’s Victory Plan, has been delayed due to a storm that hit the US. The meeting was then canceled. Jean-Pierre announced a -style ‘ meeting will take place next month. When asked about Zelensky’s plan, Jean Pierre deferred to Ukrainians and said, “We’ll allow them to comment on their plan.” We will continue to back Ukrainians in their fight against Russian aggression. The White House reaffirmed the US policy regarding Ukraine’s request for -range weapons to be used to strike Russian territory. Biden will now visit Berlin on October 18, where he will meet German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and French President Emmanuel Macron. Zelenskyy has been invited by European Council President to the Leaders’ Summit in on October 17, where he will be expected to present his Victory Plan.
