In an interview with Politico, Salome Zurabishvili, the Georgian president, said that she would probably vote with the pro–European parties and forces if they win the elections.
“If pro-European forces or parties that have signed this charter win the election, I will likely be with them to ensure that together with them, we can bring this Charter to the next European Council, and ensure the opening up of negotiations. No matter what position I’m in – this is yet to be determined,” Zurabishvili stated.
Zurabishvili, when asked about her legacy, said that she was proud of the efforts she made to unify the opposition. When asked about her biggest regret, Zurabishvili stated: “That we missed the chance to open negotiation [with the European Union].
