Greece and Ukraine sign an comprehensive Security Cooperation Agreement. The agreement bolsters military support for Ukrainian forces and provides F-16 training, while also expanding collaboration in multiple sectors.
In Brussels, the Security Cooperation Agreement between Ukraine and Greece was signed. This marks a significant step forward in bilateral relations as well as support for Ukraine’s defence capabilities. The agreement was signed by Zelenskyy and Greek Premier Kyriakos Mistiakos 17 October 2024. It outlines comprehensive cooperation across various sectors with a special focus on military assistance.
The pact was a part of the implementation the G7 Joint Declaration, adopted in on July 20, during the ongoing Russo Ukrainian war. According to the Ukrainian president’s Greece has committed to providing extra resources to accelerate F-16 Training for Ukrainian pilots. This commitment builds on Greece’s ongoing support for Ukraine since the beginnings of Russia’s full scale invasion, which includes material and technical assistance as part of training.
The agreement covers several key areas of collaboration:

Greece has also pledged to assist in the reconstruction and restoration of Ukraine. The Hellenic Republic has also expressed its support for Ukraine joining the European Union, NATO and the Formula proposed in Ukraine.
