“We have expressed concern about the current state of affairs in Georgia. Macron said that the steps taken by the Georgian government led to the suspension of Georgia’s accession process. The Georgian people would have to make a decision in the next few days.
He also emphasized the broader context for international concerns, mentioning in particular support for Moldova despite its vulnerability to hybrid action by Russia. Georgia’s situation continues to be a source of concern for European leaders as its future within the European Union is in doubt.
