Giorgi Vashadze is the leader of “Unity-National Movement” and he has declared that Georgia‘s European Integration process is at a halt due to the actions taken by the ruling “Georgian Dream”. He stressed that the upcoming election on October 26 is essentially a vote on the future of the country.
Vashadze claimed that the “Georgian Dream”, which he attributed to the “Georgian Dream”, was halting the European Integration process, costing Georgia millions of Euros in financial support, and putting the country’s visa free movement in the EU in danger. Vashadze cited statements by EU officials and European leaders to assert that the election on 26 October is a referendum closely monitored by all 27 EU members states.
Vashadze stressed that the international community and EU leaders have already “crossed” the line with Georgian Dream leaders Bidzina Ivanishvili, and Irakli Kobakhidze. He said that dialogue with sanctioned people would not be possible, and that it was impossible for Georgia to move forward towards European integration under the present government.
He encouraged citizens to cast their votes in the upcoming elections, describing them as a choice of “prosperity in Europe” or “poverty in isolation.” Vashadze addressed concerns about voter intimidation and asserted that modern electronic systems ensured the secrecy of each individual’s vote.
He concluded by expressing his confidence in the ability of the electorate to make the correct choice and move the nation towards Europe and development. He called for Ivanishvili’s influence and removal from Georgia’s future political life.
