Finland’ plan to rebuild Ukraine includes tools that encourage private sector involvement in key like and energy.
Denys Shmyhal, Prime Minister, said at a meeting in Helsinki with Finnish entrepreneurs on 18 October that more than 20 investment projects of Finnish businesses received support and would be implemented as part Ukraine’s reconstruction efforts.
The Ukrainian PM is in Finland to meet with the Finnish leadership and business representatives.
The Finnish has created a plan to participate in Ukraine’s reconstruction. This plan includes effective tools that encourage private business participation.
The projects supported focus on several key areas including construction, energy and .
In the construction industry, investments will be focused on advanced technologies, energy efficiency and expertise in building civil protective facilities.
The energy sector is expected to see growth in , decentralization, smart grid construction and energy storage systems.
In education, the focus is on digitalization, and creating a research-and-development model based on a synergy of government, universities,and the private sector.
In investments will support the sixth-generation wireless communication technology and advanced digital security technologies.
Shmyhal said, “We understand which industries will be especially successful for business and beneficial to Ukraine.”
The Finnish Defense Ministry reported that Helsinki announced its 25th package of military aid to Ukraine in early September. It is valued at approximately 118 million Euros ($130 million).
Finland has also supported Ukraine’s educational sector. The shelling of Russian forces in Kherson Oblast destroyed Ukraine’s first , which was opened in 2016 and supported by Finland.
In April, Finland signed a 10-year agreement with Ukraine on security.
