**Protest Outside Parliament**
People are gathered near the back door of Georgia’s Parliament. They’re there to show their support for Mzia Amaglobeli, a journalist who has been on hunger strike for 24 days.
The protesters don’t like that the government is treating Ms. Amaglobeli unfairly. They believe she’s being punished because of her opinions about the country‘s future.
The protesters are holding signs with messages like “Free Mzia” and “Don’t wait too long to act”. Some lawmakers are even being escorted into Parliament by people who are whistling and shouting for Ms. Amaglobeli’s freedom.
**Opposition to New Laws**
Some of the protesters are also unhappy about changes that the ruling party wants to make to Georgia’s laws. They think these changes would make it harder for journalists like Ms. Amaglobeli to do their jobs without fear.
A lot of police officers have been sent to Parliament today, probably because they expect a big crowd. The police are forming a line near the back door of Parliament.
**Important Meeting**
Today is an important day in Parliament. A new president will be speaking to lawmakers about issues that affect the country. But for now, the focus is on Ms. Amaglobeli and her supporters outside Parliament.
