Russian Drone Attack Hits Kyiv Oblast Building
A residential high-rise building in Brovary, Kyiv Oblast, was hit by debris from Russian drones on December 22. The attack caused a fire on the roof of the building.
According to local authorities, the attack happened at around 12:45 am. Mayor Igor Sapozhko said that rescuers quickly arrived at the scene and evacuated residents from the building.
The fire was fully extinguished by 1:30 am. There were no casualties reported in the incident.
This attack comes amid an increase in Russian aerial operations against Ukraine. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that over the past week, Russia deployed a large number of guided bombs, drones, and missiles.
Ukraine’s air defense downed 52 out of 103 drones launched by Russia overnight into December 22. Some 44 drones did not reach their targets. The drones were shot down in several regions, including Kyiv Oblast.
