Kyrgyz law enforcement officers have arrested a suspect linked to a criminal group that smuggled weapons from the US to Russia. The arrest was made on January 30, according to a statement by the State Committee for National Security.
The group began transporting arms in April 2022, shortly after Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine started. Authorities caught the suspect while he was receiving a package containing firearm parts.
**300 Weapons Smuggled**
The organization involved Kyrgyz, Russian, and American citizens. They allegedly smuggled over 300 weapons, including Glock pistols and AR-15 rifles. The State Committee for National Security said that the network was uncovered and dismantled.

The group used Kyrgyzstan as a transit point to smuggle firearms, ammunition, and military gear from the US to Russia. This operation has now been shut down by the authorities.
