**Fire Erupts at Russian Oil Refinery**
A large fire broke out at the Ilsky oil refinery in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai on February 17. The refinery is located in the Seversky district of the region.
Videos posted by local residents show a big blaze at the refinery. People reported hearing explosions around 1:30 am local time. Regional Governor Veniamin Kondratyev said Ukrainian drones carried out a massive attack on the region, damaging homes and injuring one woman. However, he did not mention anything about an attack on the refinery.
Emergency crews are currently at the scene of the fire. There is no information yet on casualties or damage to the refinery.

Ukraine considers Russian oil facilities to be valid military targets because they help fund Moscow‘s war efforts. The Ukrainian military has launched several attacks against Russian refineries using long-range drones. Just days ago, Ukraine attacked another oil refinery in Krasnodar Krai, targeting a facility that processes 6.25 million tons of oil each year.
