**Ukraine Shoots Down 21 Russian Drones Overnight**
The Ukrainian Air Force reported that it shot down 21 Russian attack drones on December 30. This comes after Russia launched a total of 43 drones from its Krasnodar Krai region.
According to the report, Russia also launched decoy drones alongside the attack ones, but Ukraine lost track of these decoys. The drones were shot down over several regions in Ukraine, including Kharkiv, Poltava, Chernihiv, Odesa, Donetsk, and Dnipropetrovsk.
**Damage and No Casualties**
The debris from the downed drones damaged residential houses in Kharkiv and Odesa oblasts. However, there were no reported casualties. Earlier in the day, Odesa Oblast Governor Oleh Kiper said that five residential buildings were damaged in his oblast following the attack.
**Russia’s Escalating Aerial Assault**
This is not the first time Russia has launched a large-scale drone attack on Ukraine. In fact, President Volodymyr Zelensky reported earlier that Russia had escalated its aerial assault on Ukraine, launching over 280 KAB-guided bombs, nearly 370 attack drones, and over 80 missiles in the past week.
**Ukraine’s Response**
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha called for imports of Russian liquefied natural gas (LNG) to be banned and replaced with supplies from the United States and other partners. This move is aimed at depriving Russia of revenue from gas exports.
