A group of protesters, led by Aleko Elisashvili from the “Strong Georgia” coalition, chased judges out of a restaurant in Tbilisi on January 12. The judges were attending a corporate event at the “Babylon” restaurant when they were confronted by the protesters.
**Protesters Demand Justice**
Elisashvili criticized the judges for their actions and accused them of being corrupt. He said that the police authority is also in decline, citing cases of physical violence against people and theft from protesters. The politician emphasized that what is happening in the country is not just a public protest but a determined struggle by society.
**Government’s Crackdown on Protesters Criticized**
The government has been criticized for its crackdown on protesters and media representatives. Elisashvili said that by arresting protesters, the government is weakening itself. He also called out Russia and Venezuela for their support of the Georgian Dream party.
**Elisashvili Speaks Out Against Clinic‘s Actions**
Elisashvili also spoke out against a clinic in Tbilisi, “Vivamedi,” after they incorrectly diagnosed him with a rib fracture and published his X-ray on social media. He said that he will sue the clinic once the government changes and revoke its license.
**Release from Prison**
Elisashvilli was released from prison but expressed discomfort for other detainees who are still being held. He said that his release was not up to him and that his court hearing is scheduled for January 23.
