**North Korean Troops Fighting Alongside Russia in Ukraine**
Ukraine’s ambassador to the US, Oksana Markarova, has made a shocking statement about the war with Russia. She told CBS News that hundreds of North Korean troops are fighting alongside Russian forces in Kursk Oblast.
“We have seen hundreds of (North Korean soldiers) on the battlefield already, and (Ukraine is) successfully fighting them as we are fighting with the Russians,” Markarova said. “We see them now in Kursk Oblast only, and our brave defenders were not only able to kill a lot of them, but also keep the positions.”
This news comes after President Volodymyr Zelensky said that a significant number of North Korean soldiers have begun fighting for Russia.
**Ukraine Seeks More Military Aid**
Markarova called on more military aid from Western countries as Pyongyang’s and Moscow’s relationship continues to strengthen. She said that Ukraine needs artillery, weapons, and air defense systems to defend itself.
“It’s still a question of artillery and weapons and air defense, most importantly, and the more we can have, the more efficiently we can defend,” Markarova said.
**Russian Losses Mount**
Moscow’s losses on the battlefield continue to mount, with reported daily losses of over a thousand troops in recent months. Almost 100 of Ukraine’s new missile-drone hybrids have been produced as the weapon entered serial production.
**Sanctions and Diplomacy**
The war in Ukraine continues to be a major topic at international summits. The next G20 summit will not invite Russian President Vladimir Putin due to his pending arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court.
