Explosion Hits Ammunition Depot in Czechia
On March 25, a big explosion happened at a warehouse that stores ammunition in the Svitavy district of Czechia. The news website iRozhlas reported this.
The plant where the explosion occurred is about 90 miles east of Prague and makes large-caliber ammunition. It also fixes military equipment and supplies parts.
One person was badly hurt and was flown to the hospital. Emergency workers evacuated people from the area, but said there’s no danger to residents. Some nearby roads were closed as a precaution.
The plant where the explosion happened is owned by STV Invest, which rents out some of its space. There have been problems like this before in Czechia. In 2014, two explosions at ammunition depots killed two people.
