**Georgian Leader Accused of Ignoring Past Wrongdoings**
Ana Dolidze, a leader of the For the People – Strong Georgia coalition, says that in 2012-2013, she suggested creating a Truth and Reconciliation Commission. However, the Georgian Dream government refused to set it up.
According to her, judges who handled two important cases (Khardziani and Leonidze) were appointed for life and even got promoted. She questions why the current government is trying to investigate past crimes when they themselves have not taken responsibility for their actions.
Dolidze claims that former political prisoners have been seeking justice for years but none of them found it under Georgian Dream’s rule. Property was not returned, only some individuals managed to get theirs back. No prosecutors were arrested and judges who made mistakes in the Khardziani and Leonidze cases were promoted.
**Truth and Reconciliation Commission Proposed Years Ago**
In 2012-2013, Ana Dolidze proposed establishing a Truth and Reconciliation Commission but it was not created by Georgian Dream. She says that back then, the government made deals with certain individuals to give them asylum, while arresting others like Vano Merabishvili.
Dolidze’s statement was released through the party’s press service.
