Meeting Between President and Opposition Ends
A meeting between the President of Georgia and opposition leaders has ended. Ana Dolidze, a leader of For a Strong Georgia, said that the next step is to stay at the Orbeliani Palace after December 29.
This would mean declaring the palace as the only place where the legitimate president should live, according to Dolidze. She believes this move would be a form of support for the President’s fight for independence.
Dolidze also mentioned that discussions are taking place regarding a document that will address elections, election administration, and the conditions under which new elections can take place in Georgia.
The opposition is demanding new elections and the release of political prisoners. They want to ensure that future elections are fair and legitimate.
