The government of Georgia has been accused of declaring war against its own people. Ana Natsvlishvili, a leader of the opposition group “Strong Georgia”, made this claim on Facebook.
Natsvlishvili was one of many protesters who were attacked with gas and rubber bullets during a demonstration in Tbilisi, the capital city of Georgia. She described the experience as traumatic, saying it caused her great pain and discomfort.
**Protesters Describe Brutal Treatment**
Many protesters have come forward to describe the brutal treatment they received at the hands of police. They claim that officers used excessive force, including gas and rubber bullets, to disperse the crowd.
Natsvlishvili said that even as she was being helped by her friends, who were also injured, she couldn’t help but think about the reasons behind the government’s actions. She pointed out that Georgia has been invited to join the European Union, but only if it agrees to make significant reforms, including freeing up its court system and fighting corruption.
