Georgia’s Ruling Situation Exposed
A conversation between French President Emmanuel Macron and Bidzina Ivanishvili, the honorary chairman of “Georgian Dream“, has been revealed. Anna Natsvlishvili from the coalition “Strong Georgia” commented on this call.
According to Natsvlishvili, President Macron informed Ivanishvili that the democratic world does not recognize Georgia‘s current government and parliament. They are seen as illegitimate due to a lack of constitutional status.
Natsvlishvili wrote about the conversation on social media. She stated that even Ivanishvili does not acknowledge Irakli Kobakhidze and Shalva Papuashvili, who lead the government and parliament, respectively. This is an indication that even those in power do not consider their rule as legitimate.
The statement also mentioned the takeover of the state by Bidzina Ivanishvili on October 26th. Natsvlishvili urged the Georgian people to stand together and be brave against this situation.
The whole situation, according to Natsvlishvili, is a result of Georgia being an oligarchic captured state. She emphasized that in a normal state, such informal rulers would not have the authority to make decisions or engage with foreign leaders on behalf of the government.
