EU Condemns Repression in Georgia
The European Union is unhappy about how police treated peaceful protesters this weekend in the cities of Batumi and Tbilisi.
Protesters were arrested, including journalists and activists. They should be released, according to Anitta Hipper, who speaks for the EU on foreign affairs.
She said there must be consequences for officials involved in these actions, which are not allowed by law.
This is not the first time the EU has spoken out against government actions in Georgia.
