**EU Membership Process in Jeopardy**
The European Union (EU) is considering suspending Georgia’s membership process. This decision was announced by Annalena Baerbock, the EU Commissioner for Foreign Affairs and Security.
Baerbock said that the government of Georgia, known as “Georgian Dream,” has been acting in an authoritarian way. She stated that this behavior poses a threat to the partnership between Georgia and the EU.
The reason for the potential suspension is that the Georgian government‘s actions are not in line with the values and principles of the EU. These values include democracy, human rights, and the rule of law.
Baerbock’s statement suggests that the EU is unhappy with the direction Georgia is taking. The decision to suspend the membership process would be a significant step for the country.
