Congressman Tom Suozzi Joins Bill Against Georgian Government
A new co-author has joined the “Act of Non-Recognition of the Georgian Nightmare.” This information is now on the US Congress website.
The bill, originally introduced by Republican Congressman Joe Wilson, has gained another co-sponsor. Tom Suozzi from the Democratic Party has joined the list of cosponsors. He is the seventh person to support this bill. Others who have also co-sponsored it are Republicans Michael Turner and Michael Lawler, as well as Democrats Steve Cohen, Lloyd Doggett, Emanuel Cleaver, and Jimmy Panetta.
What does this mean? The “Act of Non-Recognition” bill says that the US government should not recognize any government in Georgia if they are led by Bidzina Ivanishvili or his followers.
Congressman Joe Wilson has also introduced another bill called the “MEGOBARI Act”. This bill includes sanctions against certain people and already has 18 co-sponsors. It has been presented to the US Senate as well, with Republican Jim Risch and Democrat Jeanne Shaheen supporting it.
