Georgian Soldier Killed in Ukraine
Zurab Shvangiradze, a 26-year-old Georgian fighter, has died from his injuries. He was hurt while on a mission with other soldiers in Ukraine.
According to Koka Murachashvili, Shvangiradze’s comrade, the soldier was shot in the face by a Russian bullet. After being taken to a hospital in Dnipro, he underwent several operations but did not recover.
Shvangiradze had left for Ukraine in 2022 as a volunteer fighter. He later returned home and started a family. But when Russia invaded Ukraine again this year, he went back to fight with the “Black Eagle” special forces unit.
Sadly, Shvangiradze’s death brings the total number of Georgian soldiers killed in action to 59 since the Russian invasion began on February 24, 2022.
