**Georgia‘s Justice Minister on New Government**
The new government in Georgia does not need a signature from President Salome Zurabishvili, said Anri Okhanashvili, the country‘s Minister of Justice. According to him, the Prime Minister will be considered appointed as long as he follows the Constitution.
Okhanashvili was asked if President Zurabishvili’s approval is required until the new government starts working. He replied that this is not necessary and that the answer can be found in the Constitution. The document does not require a signature from the President, he said.
**Legitimacy of Government**
The Minister also spoke about the legitimacy of the government and parliament. In his view, it comes from the Georgian people, not foreigners. Okhanashvili stated that the government’s legitimacy is based on the support of the Georgian people through the Parliament of Georgia. The “Georgian Dream” team was chosen by the people in elections.
He also said that the Parliament has popular legitimacy and therefore the government is fully legitimate. Okhanashvili emphasized that the new government will serve the interests of its own people and country.
**European Union Integration**
The Minister also mentioned the integration of Georgia into the European Union. He stated that the government continues to work on this path actively, aiming to join the EU.
