**EU Imposes New Sanctions on China and North Korea**
The European Union has introduced a new set of sanctions against Chinese companies that make drones for Russia. This is the first time the EU has targeted Chinese firms in connection with Moscow’s war effort.
The EU also imposed sanctions on officials from North Korea, who are accused of helping Russia wage war. The sanctions are part of the 15th package of measures aimed at restricting Russia’s ability to fight a war.
**Support for Ukraine**
The EU continues to provide significant help to Ukraine. However, the current situation on the battlefield demands even stronger support, said EU High Representative Kaja Kallas.
In 2025, the EU plans to increase its support for Ukraine by providing €1.5 billion per month. This funding will come from frozen Russian assets. The EU’s military aid has already reached €45.5 billion.
**Victory Against Russia**
Kallas emphasized that the EU must give Ukraine everything it needs to win against Russian aggression. She stressed that the stronger Ukraine is on the battlefield, the better its position will be at the negotiating table.
The EU official also warned that Vladimir Putin will not stop until he is stopped. She noted that the collapse of the Assad regime in Syria shows that Russia is weakening.
**Training 75,000 Soldiers**
By the end of winter, the EU plans to help Ukraine train 75,000 soldiers. This military support will be crucial for Ukraine’s defense industry and its air defense systems.
