**Russia Attacks Zaporizhzhia, Injuring 16 People**
A Russian attack on the city of Zaporizhzhia in Ukraine has injured at least 16 people. The attack happened early on January 23.
The governor of Zaporizhzhia Oblast, Ivan Fedorov, said that four of those injured are employees of Ukraine’s State Emergency Service. One of the victims is a two-month-old baby who was taken to the hospital.
**Many Injured in Residential Building**
Ten people have been hospitalized, with five in serious condition and five in moderate condition. The remaining victims are being treated on an outpatient basis. A Russian missile targeted residential buildings in Zaporizhzhia, damaging a roof and smashing multiple windows.
**Rescue Operations Underway**
Rescue operations are ongoing at the site as emergency workers search for victims who may be trapped beneath the rubble. An aerial alert had been issued over the region due to the threat of ballistic missiles from Russia.
**Zaporizhzhia Frequently Targeted by Russian Forces**
Zaporizhzhia, with a pre-war population of around 710,000 people, is frequently targeted by Russian forces. In an attack on January 8, 13 people were killed and at least 30 others were injured in an industrial facility attack.
