**Russia’s Missile Attack on Ukraine**
A Russian ballistic missile hit a residential building in Kryvyi Rih on December 24, killing one person and injuring 14 others. The attack was part of Russia’s daily air assaults on Ukrainian cities.
The missile struck a four-story building with 32 apartments around 15:45. Emergency services rescued one man from the rubble, but he died despite medical efforts. Eleven people were injured, including women and men of different ages.
**Rescue Efforts**
As of 19:00, seven people had been hospitalized, with three in critical condition. The remaining patients were receiving treatment for their injuries. A woman was pulled from the rubble at 19:50 and taken to a hospital for medical care.
Over 60 rescue workers were on site, removing debris and searching for more people trapped under the rubble. Ukraine’s State Emergency Service reported that the missile destroyed part of the building and damaged nearby shops and vehicles.
**Investigation**
The Prosecutor General’s Office has launched an investigation into the war crime resulting in civilian death. The incident is just one example of Russia’s ongoing attacks on Ukrainian cities, particularly targeting energy infrastructure and civilian life during winter months.
**Double-Tap Attack**
In a separate incident, Russian forces carried out a double-tap attack on first responders in Sumy Oblast, striking the same spot after a pause as emergency workers arrived. This attack has been reported but is unrelated to the missile strike in Kryvyi Rih.
