After the Ministerial Conference on the Human Dimension of the Peace Formula held in Montreal, more than 45 countries signed an agreement on October 31 to support the facilitation of the return of all Ukrainian deportees and captives taken by .

The participants of the conference also committed to support Ukraine in reintegrating those that eventually return and to raise awareness about Russia’s illegal detentions and expulsions.

According to the Children of War Database, at least 19,500 children were confirmed as being abducted by Russia after its full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Less than 400 of these children have been returned to their families.
