**Police Crack Down on Opposition in Georgia**
On December 4, the authorities started to carry out repressions against opposition members and activists. Police entered homes and offices without a court order to search for evidence.
**Opposition Leaders Arrested**
The police arrested several opposition leaders, including Nika Gvaramia, leader of the Coalition for Change, and its member Gela Khasaia. They also detained Zviad Tsestkhaldze, founder of the activist group “Dafioni”.
**Journalists and Party Members Blocked from Entering Offices**
The police blocked access to offices belonging to opposition parties, including Unity-UNM’s youth organization. Sopo Japaridze, a Unity-UNM leader, was denied entry to her own building. The police claimed they had already shown the search warrant to those inside.
**Opposition Leader Physically Abused**
The leader of the Coalition for Change, Nika Gvaramia, was arrested after asking to see the order for the search and trying to enter the building. He was thrown on the ground, physically abused, and dragged away unconscious.
**Many Offices Searched**
Police searched many offices, including those belonging to opposition parties, activist groups, and even social media activists. They took electronics, technology, and other belongings from these places.
**Activists Detained**
Several activists were detained by police, including two members of the opposition coalition Strong Georgia, who were accused of mentioning the possibility of deaths during protests on a videotape aired by a pro-government media outlet.
