**European Parliament Resolution Sparks Crisis in Georgia**
A top leader of the Strong Georgia coalition, Badri Japaridze, has called for new elections to resolve a growing crisis in the country. This comes after the European Parliament adopted a resolution critical of the ruling Georgian Dream party.
Japaridze believes that supporters of the Georgian Dream must take action and pressure its leaders to call for new elections. He says this is the only way out of the constitutional and political crisis that has been created.
**European Parliament’s Severe Resolution**
The European Parliament’s resolution is severe in its language, accusing the Georgian Dream party and its leader, Bidzina Ivanishvili, of undermining Georgia’s state. The resolution also calls on EU member states not to recognize the de facto government and to use sanctions against it.
**Threat to EU Benefits**
Japaridze says that the greatest threat to Georgia is the loss of benefits gained through its closer relations with the EU, including free trade and visa–free travel. He believes that if new elections are not held in a fair and free environment, these benefits may be lost forever.
**Sanctions and Pressure on Georgian Dream**
Japaridze is calling on supporters of the Georgian Dream to come to their senses and create pressure on Ivanishvili to call for new elections. He warns that if this does not happen, sanctions will be imposed not only on the party but also on those who finance its repressive regime.
