Badri Japaridze Talks Election Dates and Coordination
A meeting took place between Badri Japaridze, a leader of the “Strong Georgia” coalition, and Salome Zurabishvili, Georgia’s fifth president. They discussed the steps needed to make a decision about new elections.
Japaridze said that they talked about creating a group where all sides can work together. This should include not only political groups but also people who have been protesting. He described the meeting as “working and very interesting”.
Zurabishvili believes it’s essential for politicians and social groups to be close and coordinate their actions well. Japaridze agrees with this idea and thinks a common format should be created around the president. This could be called something like an opposition front or coordination council.
Japaridze said that real political groups, society, and people who are protesting every day should all have representatives in this group. The goal is to work together more effectively.
