**University Occupied by Protesting Students**
Students protesting the war in Gaza have taken over a part of the University of Cambridge. Members of the group “Cambridge for Palestine” entered Greenwich House, an administrative building on Friday.
The students claimed that the university had not kept its promises to review investments related to the defence and arms industry. They also demanded that the university publicly condemn Israel’s actions against Gaza and carry out an investment analysis.
**University Response**
The University of Cambridge said it recognizes the importance of peaceful protest but does not accept the forceful entry of buildings. The spokesperson stated that the university had reaffirmed its commitment to exploring its relationship with the defence industry through a working group.
**Previous Protests**
In May, students set up a camp outside Greenwich House to protest against the university’s investment in the defence and arms industry. After negotiations, an agreement was reached for a group of students to examine the issues related to the university’s approach towards investments.
