Beka Liluashvili, a leader of the “For Georgia” party, has spoken out against recent attacks on former Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia and former Minister of Internal Affairs.
Liluashvili said that his team is not interested in ordinary people who attack government officials with eggs at 4:00 AM. Instead, he wants to know the mastermind behind these actions – Bidzina Ivanishvili, the patron of the “Georgian Dream” regime.
The party leader stated that there is a double standard when some people speak out against certain issues, but remain silent on others with similar circumstances. He referred to the recent incident at Tbilisi International Airport as a continuation of the attack carried out in Batumi.
Liluashvili criticized the relevant authorities for not responding to the incident. He stated that if there was a responsive authority, they would have reacted on the spot or beyond the airport’s perimeter. However, no such reaction occurred, and the evidence from the Batumi incident has been taken hostage by the government.
The party leader also accused some MPs of lying when they claimed to have had no connection to the attack. He stated that it is a disgraceful lie and that people from Ivanishvili’s office are involved in covering up the incident.
Liluashvili emphasized that what matters most is the mastermind behind these attacks – Bidzina Ivanishvili. He believes that Ivanishvili is in a state of hysterical fear because his government was not representing the people’s interests at the Munich Conference, but rather Salome Zurabishvili and Giorgi Gakharia.
The party leader warned that the attacks on the former Prime Minister and former Minister of Internal Affairs send a message that ordinary citizens cannot overthrow the regime. He stated that Tbilisi International Airport is an object of international importance and that it is surprising that there was no reaction to the incident.
Liluashvili concluded by saying that no one should be afraid, and that the “Georgian Dream” regime should know that they will inevitably lose money and power.
