Teachers at a high school in Belgrade are not getting paid for February. They joined their students who were protesting outside the school.
A teacher from the 5th Grammar School said that the teaching staff didn’t receive their first half of salaries for this month. He complained that the teachers had supported the student protesters, demanding changes to the school’s leadership.
The Education Minister said that the law was followed in cutting the salaries of teachers who did not teach classes. However, a teacher disagreed, saying it was wrong to take away pay from protesting teachers.
