**Belgrade High School Seniors Take Over Their Own School**
On Friday morning, students of the 5th Grammar School in central Belgrade decided to block their school for 24 hours. This decision was made after the acting headmistress locked the school earlier in the week.
The acting headmistress, Danka Nesovic, had hired private security guards to control who could enter the school. She only allowed people she invited to attend meetings of the school bodies. The students were upset about this and decided to take action.
**Students Form a Human Chain**
At 7:00 am on Friday, seniors formed a human chain around the school before entering the building through an unlocked door. A caretaker let them in. This was a show of solidarity with university students who are also taking over schools across Serbia.
The teachers at the 5th Grammar School have been on strike in support of the university students. The blockade is a protest against the way Danka Nesovic is running the school.
