The countries of France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain, and the UK said they will work together to help Ukraine. They also said they will provide a $50 billion loan from the G7 countries to meet Ukraine’s urgent needs.
Ukraine is at war with Russia. The European diplomats said they want Ukraine to “win” the war. They promised to support Ukraine’s right to self-defense and its desire to join the European Union and NATO.
The diplomats also said they will continue to put pressure on Russia by limiting its military capabilities and cutting off some of its revenue sources.
They emphasized that any peace talks in Ukraine must involve Ukrainians, with Europeans standing by their side. They also reaffirmed their commitment to a plan for peace proposed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The meeting came at a time when there are reports of possible peace talks between Ukraine and Russia. However, the European diplomats made it clear that they will continue to support Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression.
