US President Joe Biden Criticizes Russia’s Attack on Ukraine
President Joe Biden condemned a massive attack by Russian forces on Ukrainian settlements on November 28. According to the White House, Russia launched 188 aerial targets against residential areas and civilian infrastructure.
Russia has been targeting Ukraine’s energy objects with missiles and drones since October 2022. The goal is to disrupt civilian life, especially during cold months. Biden described the latest attack as “horrific” and said it was meant to deprive Ukrainian civilians of access to electricity.
Biden Emphasizes US Support for Ukraine
The US president emphasized that his message to the Ukrainian people is clear: “The United States stands with you.” He also mentioned that earlier this year, the US prioritized air defense exports to go to Ukraine first. Biden highlighted his administration’s efforts to bolster Ukraine’s energy resilience ahead of winter and provide other critical resources.
Russia Underestimates Ukraine’s Strength
Biden stated that Russia continues to underestimate the bravery, resilience, and determination of the Ukrainian people. He noted that the US stands with more than 50 countries in support of Ukraine and its fight for freedom.
