Bidzina ivanishvili is the Honorary Chairman of Georgian Dream. She announced that Georgia will most likely achieve high income status by 2030 according to World Bank rankings. Ivanishvili said that by 2030, Georgia will be a wealthy nation in Europe. She was speaking at a regional Georgian Dream campaign event in Kutaisi.
Ivanishvili expressed optimism regarding Georgia’s economic trajectory by citing positive evaluations and forecasts from international organizations. According to him the country’s steady growth is a direct consequence of Georgian Dream policies and reforms implemented since 2012.
Ivanishvili said that it is highly probable that Georgia will achieve a high income status by 2030 according to the World Bank’s classification, and we will join the ranks proudly of the rich European Union countries. He attributed the future achievements of Georgia to stable governance, long-term peace and Georgian Dream.
Ivanishvili began by praising Kutaisi for its historical role in Georgia. He referred to its contributions to culture, education, unification, and the nation. He reminded the crowd of Kutaisi’s rich heritage and linked the city’s past glory with the country’s present and future success.
“Kutaisi is the main stronghold of our country from time immemorial!” Kutaisi was the place where our ancestor began the unification of the country, Ivanishvili said. He praised the city’s importance.
Ivanishvili reflected upon the successes achieved since Georgian Dream took power in 2012. He contrasted them with the National Movement, which he described as oppressive and un-national.
He accused the former regime of stifling liberty, seizing private properties, and leading Georgia to war in 2008 which resulted into significant territorial losses and suffering for human beings. Georgian Dream, he said, has brought peace, democracy and economic stability to the country, paving the path for its European integration.
Ivanishvili said, “As a consequence, we live in an environment based on democracy and rule of law. We also respect human dignity and fundamental human rights. Freedom of speech and opinion are also protected.”
Ivanishvili stressed the importance of the Georgian Dream winning a majority in the upcoming election on October 26 to ensure long-term stability and peace. He claimed that such a level of public support could help to block the efforts of the National Movement and their foreign backers who want to destabilize Georgia.
Ivanishvili said that a constitutional majority was needed to ensure long-term stability and peace. He also stated that it would allow the government the ability to implement critical reforms, and to protect family values and Orthodox Church.
He also spoke of plans to include these values in the Constitution while guaranteeing all religious rights in Georgia.
Ivanishvili urged voters to choose between the National Movement which he described as war-driven, loyal to foreign interests and Georgian Dream which he said represented stability, prosperity and a pathway to European integration.
“Considering all of this, on October 26 the population of Georgia will have to make a simple decision — either a radical collective opposition, where stateless traitors are gathered…or the Georgian Dream a national political power that has served the interests of the nation and people for many years,” Ivanishvili said.
He concluded by calling for unity and strategic vision, and encouraging citizens to bring Georgia as a proud nation and prosperous nation into the European Union.
