**Poland and France Discuss Sending Soldiers to Ukraine**
The leaders of Poland and France are meeting to discuss sending soldiers to Ukraine. This comes after a possible ceasefire deal, reported Bloomberg on December 11.
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and French President Emmanuel Macron will talk about how to strengthen Ukraine’s security in the short- and long-term. They may also consider deploying European soldiers once a ceasefire is reached.
Macron has been pushing for this idea since February. He even talked with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer last month about sending peacekeepers.
**Poland to Send Soldiers, But Only Within NATO Framework**
Szymon Holownia, the speaker of Poland’s lower parliament chamber, said that Poland will only send soldiers within a NATO framework. President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine also wants to see a clear timeline for NATO membership before considering foreign peacekeepers.
**Russia Continues to Attack Ukraine**
Russian forces are still attacking Ukraine. At least one civilian was killed and 11 others were injured in the past day, regional authorities reported on December 12.
The situation is becoming more critical for Ukraine as Russia gains ground in Donetsk Oblast.
