European leaders are trying to get the to support Ukraine a last-minute effort. This is before President-elect Donald Trump takes office, Bloomberg reported November 14.

Some EU officials want the US to give more and permission Ukraine to attack Russia from afar. They also want new sanctions against Russia. These requests have been mostly informal, according to sources.

The has promised Ukraine that it will get all of the $6 billion in remaining aid before Trump takes office again in January.

In an emergency visit to NATO headquarters, Secretary of said the US is looking for more help for Ukraine ahead of the presidential transition. He assured that President will continue to support Ukraine so it can either fight effectively or negotiate peace with Russia from a strong position.

Despite these assurances, the US has not changed its position on Ukraine using long-range American weapons against military targets deep within Russia.
